To the Editor,
I was recently made aware of a letter written by my friend, Sherry Wernicke, and Allison Fox, with regard to SB 586, AN ACT CONCERNING THE CONTROL OF NUISANCE WILDLIFE. I agree with both writers that the bill is both unnecessary and immoral. There are better, and proven ways of dealing with the bear population, as the writers pointed out. The provision of the bill that would allow for trophy hunting is where the moral issue comes into play.
Please write your representatives and have friends around the state do the same. If we don’t speak up for the defenseless, then who will?
