On Sunday, April 7 at 3:30 p.m., the Astronomical Society of Greenwich partners with Greenwich Library to present Dr. Rodrigo Luger discussing “In Search of Habitable Planets.” The program will take place in the Cole Auditorium of Greenwich Library.

Luger is a Flatiron Research Fellow at the Centre for Computational Physics in New York City. He will discuss our current understanding of the occurrence rate of planets in the habitable zone, with a focus on those orbiting low mass stars. He will highlight the most promising candidates in future searches for life and discuss various techniques being developed for ascertaining their atmospheric composition, surface features, and potential presence of biosignatures.

The event is open to all at no charge. For more information contact Michele Martin at mmartin@greenwichlibrary.org or visit astrogreenwich.org
