Grammy-nominated pop superstar Kesha will be the performer for the GIFF Epic Anniversary Party, taking place June 1, 2019 at The Capitol Theater in Port Chester. This year marks the 5th anniversary of the all female founded, social impact film festival.

Over the pst 4 years, GIFF has hosted 350 plus events, awarded $120,000 to filmmakers to support their work and future project, and raised over $500,000 for charities. Proceeds from the festival will benefit charities such as the Human Needs Project and Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich. The mission of GIFF is to provide filmmakers with an effective platform to showcase their work with the goal of finding financing opportunities for future projects. Additionally, GIFF harnesses the power of film to serve the greater good by highlighting causes that relate to basic human rights, education, the environment and health care.

Kesha’s latest album ‘Rainbow’, called “an artistic feat” by Entertainment Weekly and “the best music of her career” by Rolling Stone, marks a new beginning. The festival’s focus on female filmmakers and empowerment within the industry make Kesha a perfect choice. Her latest album is based around inner strength and musical exploration, and reveals Kesha at “her defiant, unbridled best” (USA Today), boasting collaborators ranging from Ben Folds to Eagles of Death Metal to Dolly Parton. The album has earned praise from the New York Times, Billboard, NPR Music and more, and earned Kesha her first-ever Grammy nominations for “Best Pop Vocal Album” and “Best Pop Solo Performance” for “Praying.”

Kesha has had 9 Top 10 hits on The Billboard Hot 100, including four #1 singles at Top 40 Radio – “TiK ToK,” “Your Love Is My Drug,” “Die Young,” and “Timber.” She is an animal rights crusader as the Humane Society International’s first Global Ambassador and a passionate advocate for equality, being honored with the 2016 Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award. In 2016 she won Billboard’s Women in Music Trailblazer Award and in 2018 she was named one of Time Magazine’s Time 100, their annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
