Volunteers Needed for Mianus River Fish Ladder Program

mianus-fishway-fi

The Town of Greenwich is looking to expand its current volunteer base and monitoring program at the Mianus Pond Fishway. As part of this effort, all interested residents are invited to attend a workshop/informational meeting on Wednesday, March 13, 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Town Hall, Gisborne Room (3rd flr.)

Participants in the workshop will learn about the history of the fishway, the fishes that utilize it, how it is operated, and the duties volunteers are expected to perform. No prior knowledge of fish passage is needed to attend. Local residents, fishing groups, watershed associations, and town employees are encouraged to attend.

There is no fee for this program – but pre-registration is required for organizational purposes.

To register or for more information, contact Sarah Coccaro, Conservation Resource Manager, at 203-622-6461 or sarah.coccaro@greenwichct.org
