Marianne Infanti Makrinos passed away peacefully on Jan. 22 with her loving family by her side. Born in Greenwich on Aug. 2, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Rocco Infanti and Caroline Santoro Infanti.

Ms. Makrinos began her working career with American Machine & Foundry Atomics Division as an executive administrative assistant. After five years of employment, the division moved from Greenwich to Lancaster, Pa. where she relocated. Upon her return to the Greenwich area, she met her now deceased ex-husband and together they created one of the country’s first, third-party radiology equipment sales and service companies, ELM X-ray.
After almost ten years, she left the X-ray business to work with the American film producer Joseph E. Levine and his wife Rosalie as their confidential, social secretary.

Upon their passing, her love for the Caribbean and travel were fulfilled when she became a Sales & Marketing Representative for Bluebeard’s Castle Hotel in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. and Gallows Point Hotel in St. John, U.S.V.I.

Marianne excelled at the art of gracious entertaining. She enjoyed welcoming others into her home. Bringing together the people she cared about was more than serving a meal; it was an expression of love.

She was Vice President of the former Greenwich Wives Club and organized many fundraisers to help support local Greenwich families and town organizations. It was there she made lifelong friends, who along with her family, she loved nothing more than spending her time with.

Ms. Makrinos is survived by her two children, a son Mark Makrinos of Stamford, CT and a daughter Cheryl Makrinos and her husband John Lucarelli of Greenwich, CT. She is also survived by one sister, Beverly Derby and her husband Edward of Colorado Springs, Colo., as well as many nieces and nephews. Her second sister, Carmela Tomaselli, of Cos Cob predeceased her.

Calling hours were Jan. 27 at Bosak Funeral Home in Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 28 at Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, Stamford, followed by interment at Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in memory of Marianne to the Multiple Myeloma Program at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 or via dana-farber.org/gift or 800-525-4669.
