Constantin von Petrov, of Greenwich, died peacefully at home on Dec. 27, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Kathie (Bria) Petrov, his sons William (Kate) of Stamford, Stephen of Greenwich and Alexander (Jen) of Stamford; five precious grandsons, Nicholas, Zachary, Jaxon, Mason, and Landon, all of Stamford; his twin brother Vladimir of Utah; his family in Germany; and many longtime friends. He was predeceased by his parents.

Coco, as he was known to family and friends, was born Sept. 30, 1950 in Munich, Germany to Konstantin von Petrov and Felicitas Gräfin von Spee. The family immigrated to the US, living on Long Island. They returned to Europe when Coco was six years old living first in Vienna, Austria and later Munich, Germany. They returned to the US, settling in Greenwich where he graduated from Greenwich High School and University of Bridgeport and ultimately earned an M.B.A. in Finance from NYU. Coco worked initially for Real Estate Investment Trusts in the US and Europe and later formed his own company. He later earned a teaching certification in Math and taught for several years in the Greenwich Public Schools. He was a past member of the Rotary Club and the Exchange Club of Stamford and was well known in the local community.

He loved attending concerts, skiing with his family, walking his German Shepherd at Bruce Park, traveling to Europe, cheering on the Yankees, as well as boating in the Long Island Sound. He achieved a black belt in karate and enjoyed practicing regularly. Coco was a gentle, kind and caring person who above all valued his family and friends, always putting their needs before his own.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. at Saint Roch Church, Greenwich. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of one’s choice.
