Obituary: Daniel Landry

Daniel A. Landry, age 52 of Fairfield, passed away Dec. 19, 2018. Loving husband to Eileen (May) Landry, he adored his children Conor, Alana and Christopher. He was a dedicated family man and was happiest when he was with them. He cherished big family vacations, especially sitting on the beach in Hilton Head. Dan will be deeply missed by his extended Greenwich family: Cary and Mona May; MaryBeth Brown, Doreen and Richard Catalani, Kristin and Brendan Galvin, Janine and Steve Scharff, Cary May and Colin May; his life-long best friend, Dan Mercer and many nieces and nephews all of whom he enjoyed and loved immensely.

Born in Providence, R.I., Dan had been a Fairfield resident for the last 18 years. Dan graduated from Boston College. He worked for Marcam Data Systems and Boehringer Ingelheim prior to becoming a self-employed software developer and I.T. Consultant. He was active in scouting with Boy Scout Troop 90 in Fairfield. Dan loved his community and had a strong desire to make a difference as former Secretary for Fairfield Cares. He was a lifelong avid Boston Red Sox and Patriots fan.

He is survived by his mother, Maryann DiMario Landry; three brothers, David and Kay Cook, Joel Landry, Thomas and Dawn Landry; and sister, Johanna and Mike Pimental. Dan was predeceased by his father Joel D. Landry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Fairfield. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich. Friends may call Friday, Dec. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield. Friends may consider a donation in Dan’s memory to The Landry Education Fund, c/o MaryBeth Brown.
