Jim Shattuck has been appointed Chairman of the National Executive Service Corps (NESC). He is delighted to be part of NESC and looks forward to growing the organization as he has with many companies in his professional career. He will succeed Marvin Berenblum who will be stepping down in December after his inspiring leadership.

Shattuck has over 30 years experience aligning global talent strategy with business strategy and providing succession planning, transition support, coaching, and retained search services for organizations and individuals. After multiple career assignments with Exxon Mobil in the U.S. and overseas, Shattuck served as a resource for Fortune 100 companies that required immediate restructuring in order to achieve greater efficiencies and profitability.

Having coached hundreds of individuals in improving personal and organizational performance, transitioning effectively from one organization to another, and in many cases simply ‘working differently’, Shattuck has built a successful business. Whether corporate or individual, Jim’s value to every client is grounded in guiding and making informed choices about personal “fit” and “chemistry.” Individual performance competencies matter. An organization’s drive for tangible and timely results matter. Whether new business or changing business, Shattuck’s work centers on helping the company attract and retain employees who bring value – and helping the prospective employee market himself/herself most effectively.

Shattuck earned degrees from Middlebury College and the University of Vienna, Austria, and was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. In recent years, he served on the Board of Directors for Yellowstone Park Foundation, the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, and Greenwich Emergency Medical Services (GEMS). Today, he is an active volunteer with Fairfield County SCORE (a national nonprofit organization that provides education and support for small business startups) and American Corporate Partners (a national nonprofit organization that assists United States veterans in their transition from the military to the civilian workforce). In 2009, Shattuck founded the Greenwich Young Professionals Group, an organization that helps men and women create social, business, and community opportunities in Fairfield County – an organization he continues to support and guide.

Shattuck and his wife, Carol, live in Riverside, CT.

NESC was founded in 1977 by Frank Pace, Jr., and David Rockefeller. NESC’s mission is to strengthen and empower the management of nonprofit organizations, schools and government agencies by providing high-quality, affordable consulting services.
