On Monday, the New Lebanon School Building Committee released its December construction update.
The following work was accomplished in the past month:
- Driveway and Walkway Paving is now complete
- Exterior metal wall panels and glass are complete
- All entrance doorways have been completed.
Work anticipated for the coming weeks:
- Interior finishes to be completed: progressing from 2nd floor to 1st floor areas
- Bathroom ceilings, wall tile and sinks
- Classroom ceilings, light fixtures, millwork and flooring all ongoing on 2nd floor then 1st floor
- Media center carpet
- Doors and hardware as rooms are complete
- Kitchen servery ceramic floor tile
- Kitchen cooking equipment delivery after tile complete
- Elevator installation will begin in late November.
- Ductwork, sprinkler piping, domestic water and electrical conduit are all wrapping up
- Interior glass will be complete
- Gym equipment and flooring will be end of December activities
The project has received its third reimbursement from the state of $4 million, totaling $12.2 million to date.
The intra-district elementary International Baccalaureate magnet school will serve students in grades PreK-5. There will be a centrally located earning commons, equipped with flexible furnishings & adaptable technological infrastructure, allows for multiple zones of simultaneous learning. The building is designed to meet the sustainability goals established by the Educational Specifications and to achieve a gold-level LEED rating from US Green Building Council.
