Pen Women Holds Panel Discussion on the Creative Process

As part of the “Creative Women” exhibit at the Bendheim Gallery, there will be a panel discussion on the creative process presented by the Greenwich branch of the National League of American Pen Women. The program will be Thursday, Dec. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Bendheim Gallery meeting room. The program is free and open to the public.

The participating Greenwich Pen Women members are: Joyce DiCamillo (musician), Barbara Ehrentreu (writer) Margaret Simon (visual artists), and Jean P. Moore (writer).

The discussion of the creative process will focus on (among other possibilities) the ways in which the artistic media chosen informs the work produced. Several of the artists who work with different media (oils or water color; pencil and ink or paint) may be asked to explore the impetus behind their selection process. Writers who may work with different genres (poetry and prose, for example) may be asked about the inspiration behind the selection of one genre over another.

The discussion will be moderated by Karen Heffner, Greenwich Pen Women member and visual artist. Audience members will be encouraged to join in the discussion, their questions welcomed.

The Greenwich Arts Council’s Bendheim Gallery is located at 299 Greenwich Ave, 2nd floor.

The show, “Creative Women: Artists of the Greenwich Pen Women,” will run through Jan. 3, 2019. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 12 to 4 p.m., Saturday to Sunday. The show is hosted by the Greenwich Arts Council and sponsored by the Greenwich Pen Women.
