Matthew Frank Cea died at the age of 78 after a fearless battle over the last 18 months with cancer. Matt is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Patricia Marilyn, his daughters and their husbands Alessandra and Michael Mitchell of Fairfield, CT and Emily and Sean Page of West Hartford, CT and beloved grandchildren Matthew, William (Billy), and Katherine Mitchell and Charlotte and Caroline Page. They were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brother and sister in law William and Lorraine Cea and sister and brother in law Camellia, and Joseph Coccellato as well as sister in law Evelyn Cea and many cousins and nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his brother Stephen.

Matt was a native Long Islander that then moved to the Bronx. He attended boarding school and graduated from Saint Anselm College. He served the Air National Guard and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant, NCOIC Crypto. He lived the last 30 years with his family in Greenwich. He was the most genuine salesperson you would ever meet. Having worked in the systems and technology field for over 45 years he began his career at Univac Division of Sperry Rand Corporation and retired as a partner at KPMG/Bearingpoint. He had a zest for life and many hobbies and passions, such as cars, sailing, making wine, golf, and always the best dressed in the room. You could often find Matt sitting back enjoying a tequila after a good round of 18 holes with friends. Matt will be missed by many he had the gift to make anyone he met feel great. He had an optimistic approach to life that was infectious when you were with him. He will be missed by many people. He has often been referred to as a true gentleman that inspired many.

There will be a wake on Thursday, Nov. 29 from 4 to 7 p.m., at Leo O. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St. The funeral will be held Friday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m., at St. Clement Church, 535 Fairfield Ave. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Matthew’s name to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center at giving.mskcc.org, where he received the best care imaginable.
