The Greenwich Choral Society announces its annual Holiday Concerts, with this year’s theme, “Joyeux Noël: From the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame,” Saturday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. and

Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2:30 and 5 p.m. The concerts will take place at Christ Church Greenwich, 254 East Putnam Ave.

A festival of choral music by French composers, the concerts will feature the 100-voice Choral Society with soloists, strings, harp and organ.

Francis Poulenc’s sense of humor and love of life shine through all his music, and his setting of the Gloria is no exception with its captivating mixture of solemnity and mischievous enthusiasm. Also featured will be works by Charpentier, Fauré, Gounod, and Saint-Saëns.

The Choral Society’s signature candle-lit procession will set the mood for a program that traverses the many colors of the season with familiar carols and anthems, mixed with a few surprises.

Tickets are $45 and $38, with special prices for students.

Tickets can be ordered online at GreenwichChoralSociety.org or by calling 203-622-5136. (Group sales are available by calling the GCS office.)
