The Bruce Museum’s 6th Annual “Night at the Museum” Family Benefit will take place on Friday, Nov. 9 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Night at the Museum gives young children the chance to explore the galleries in their pajamas, go on a scavenger hunt, and participate in craft projects. Rounding out the fun are musical performances by Songs for Seeds and experiments with Mad Science.
While the youngsters are served up pizza for dinner, adults will enjoy tacos provided by The Old Greenwich Social Club and other bites, an open wine/beer bar, and the chance to bid on exciting items at a silent auction, ranging from a two-night stay at White Elephant in Nantucket to dinner at amazing local restaurants. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Bruce Museum’s children’s education and scholarship programs.
This year’s Night at the Museum will have a tool theme inspired by the Museum’s current exhibition “ReTooled: Highlights from the Hechinger Collection.” Featuring more than 40 imaginative paintings, sculptures, works on paper and photographs, the exhibition brings life to the unexpected subject of tools by showcasing the works of 28 visionary artists, including Red Grooms, Walker Evans, Jim Dine, and Claes Oldenburg.
