Letter: Mike Bocchino Gets The Job Done!

To the Editor:

I am very grateful that Mike Bocchino is representing our best interests in Hartford. Mike is a tireless advocate for the business community and the community at large. In early 2017 I reached out to Mike to assist with an important issue that has plagued the Connecticut real estate industry for years. As a real property attorney in Greenwich, myself, my colleagues and those in the real estate industry, including sellers and buyers have struggled with the issues regarding open building permits.

An esteemed colleague drafted legislation remedying many of the issues created by building permits which remained open. While no law is passed in a vacuum, when I contacted Mike about this very important issue, he was quick to respond and ready to marshal this legislation to assist our industry and home owners in Connecticut.

Thanks to Mike’s efforts; “An Act Concerning The Closure of Certain Building Permits”, which he co-sponsored, passed both the House and Senate in the 2017 session providing an important measure of finality to the endless process of closing open building permits. Buyers, sellers, mortgage lenders and those involved in the transaction of real estate are better off because of this legislation which allows transactions to be completed without further delay and added costs.

We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and responsive legislator in Mike Bocchino. Please make sure you vote for Mike Bocchino on Nov. 6.

Robert V. Sisca, Esq.
