‘Alien Seas’ is Topic of Astronomical Society Presentation

The Astronomical Society of Greenwich and Greenwich Library present Dr. Vivien Gornitz, Professor; NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, Columbia University, speaking on “Alien Seas: the Case for a Wet Mars.” The talk takes place on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 3:30 p.m., at Greenwich Library’s 
Cole Auditorium
, 101 West Putnam Ave.

Gornitz will explain Mars’ landforms and processes indicating past running water on the planet. She will describe recent space missions to Mars, the instruments they carried, and what was found. Gornitz will also explain some of the activities of NASA’s Curiosity rover on the Martian surface, and present the evidence for a past ocean on Mars.
