Frances R. Cossu, of Greenwich, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8. She was 79. Born in Yonkers, N.Y. on Jan. 20, 1939 to the late John and Ethel Getz. She graduated from Commerce High School, Yonkers in 1956 and was married to her beloved husband Anthony Cossu on April 12, 1958. Frances worked for many years at Woolworth’s Department Store in Greenwich.
Aside from her husband Anthony Cossu, Frances is also survived by her loving children John (Teresa) of Rye Brook, N.Y. and Michael of Waterbury, CT; her cherished grand-daughter Sharon Cossu Caggiano (Domenic) of Winsted, CT; and son in law Jay Brennen of Hudson, N.Y. She was predeceased by her daughter Elena Cossu Brennen and former daughter-in-law Janet Cossu.
To honor her life, family and friends gathered Tuesday at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sacred Heart Church, Byram, followed by Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
