Rosemary Tencza, 94, a lifelong resident of Greenwich passed away Aug. 28, 2018 at the Nathaniel Witherell. Rosemary was born Aug. 15, 1924 in Greenwich to the late John and Elizabeth Greene McGuiness.
A devout Catholic, Rosemary was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Church in Greenwich. She will be remembered as a fixture of Island Beach for her entire life. She had a smile that lit up a room and was a welcoming presence at any social gathering. Her greatest passion was her family who she loved dearly.
Rosemary is the loving wife of the late Thomas E. Tencza and the mother of Kathy (Anthony) Longo and Michael Tencza. She is the devoted grandmother of Sandra, Michele, and Sally. She also leaves her five beloved great-grandchildren; Abbie, Olivia, Matthew, Sammi and Mikey as well as several nieces and nephews. Rosie was predeceased by her brother John Joseph McGuiness.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Church in Greenwich at a later date to be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Mary Church.
