Jean Hughes, a life-long Greenwich resident passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 25 at Greenwich Woods Health Center from Ovarian Cancer. Jean was born May 24, 1937 in Port Chester, N.Y. to James and Mildred Tracey, and was 81 years old.
Jean was predeceased by her loving husband of more than 40 years, Dennis and her brother James Tracey, also of Greenwich. She leaves behind her son Richard, his wife Kim, and grandchildren Alexa and Dean of Somers, N.Y. In addition, she is survived by her best friend and twin sister Joan Olsen, devoted mother-in-law Mary Hughes, as well as cherished nieces and nephews.
Family and friends gathered Sept. 4. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Byram. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rye Brook, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Jean’s memory.
