Obituary: Elizabeth Clark

Elizabeth S. Clark died at home in Greenwich on Sunday, July 8, 2018. Born in Philadelphia, Elizabeth attended Academy of Notre Dame at Rittenhouse Square prior to graduating from University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in one its first classes to include women. She went on to work as an executive at several major corporations, including Revlon. Bonnie, as she was known to her family, enjoyed living in Manhattan where she and Al Shepard owned a floral shop on Madison Avenue in the 1980s. She concluded her career by serving as Executive Director of the YWCA Retirement Fund for more than two decades.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her life’s partner Albert B. Shepard and their faithful companion Rowena, as well as by her parents Raymond and Elizabeth Jones, her brother Raymond Jones, and Craig Shepard. She is survived by her brother Gerry and his wife Berhane, sister-in-law Bobbie, nieces Andrea and Audra, their children Lydia and Max Jones and Scott Shepard. Elizabeth is remembered by her family and friends as a terrifically bright, determined, elegant, caring person and leader.
