Re Militello of Greenwich died on Aug. 23, 2018. He was 88 years old. Re served in the army from 1952 to 1954. He was a Captain in the New York City Fire Department retiring in 1992.
Re is survived by his wife Hilde (nee Nierkamp). They were married in 1981. Also survived by children Mark Van Belle (wife Carol), Steve Van Belle (wife Sharon) and Peter Van Belle as well as grandsons Jonathan and Christopher.
To honor his life, family will receive friends on Friday, Aug. 31 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 11 a.m., at St. Michael’s R.C. Church followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
