The Greenwich United Way had their 2nd Annual Golf Tournament May 21 at Burning Tree Country Club. This year’s event directly benefited the organization’s soon to be launched Human Services Technology Solutions (HSTS) program that is part of the organization’s three Direct Impact Programs. The organization launched its “dual-philanthropic” option for donors earlier this year after a quiet phase of fundraising that launched in 2016. Youth Impact Programming and Early Childhood Achievement Gap Solutions are the other two collaborative programs categorized under Direct Impact. This was the first public fundraiser for the HSTS program.

The “all-inclusive” tournament included green fees, caddy, lunch, gift, giveaways, mulligans, putting contest, on course games and beverages, a silent auction featuring sports memorabilia from Steiner Sports, and dinner with a live auction led by Comedian, Jane Condon. This year’s event was chaired by Mario Forlini and Sergio Forlini.

“Our 2nd Annual Golf Outing at Burning Tree Country Club was a huge success. Thanks to event chairs Mario and Sergio Forlini and their dedicated committee, the event raised money to fund our Human Services Technology Solutions (HSTS) Direct Impact Program. HSTS will allow caseworkers to more efficiently and effectively help their clients, getting them much-needed services faster. 75 golfers enjoyed a perfect day on the course and were treated to a real experience that had them asking about next year already,” said Greenwich United Way CEO, David Rabin.
