First Congregational Church in Old Greenwich launches the 8th season of “Summer Sings” with a move to a new night on Thursday, June 28.

“One of our favorite summer programs at First Church brings choral music lovers in the area together for impromptu rehearsal and performance of great music,” said Dr. Craig Scott Symons. Music Director at First Church. “In a space of two hours on a week night, we share an energized rehearsal followed by an instant performance.”

Music is provided, and a donation of $10 per person is requested, except for college and high school students, who participate for free. All Summer Sings are held in the air-conditioned Auditorium of First Church in Old Greenwich.

On Thursday, June 28, the impromptu chorus will rehearse and perform Bach Magnificat, with professional soloists Carolina Kipnis, Carol Woodman, Hanna Golodinskii, Daniel Young, and Vasil Golodinskii.

On Thursday, Aug. 30, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms will be rehearsed and performed by the chorus.

Craig Scott Symons will conduct both sessions of Summer Sings.

Singers interested in joining Summer Sings can just show up at a session, or contact Craig Symons, craigs@fccog.org for more information.
