Last Thursday evening, approximately 80 guests gathered for the launch of Lola & Leone, a new fragrance by Olga Litvinenko – Greenwich native and former Miss Connecticut USA 2017 and Miss Connecticut Teen USA 2007.

The event, held at McArdle’s Florist and Garden Center, served as an apropos venue for guests to experience the new scent – enveloped by bouquets of roses, orchids, pristine hydrangeas and gardenias, one of the perfume’s signature notes.

“McArdle’s is the perfect fit for this event, and I am so thrilled to share this signature scent, which signifies love, passion and creativity, which to me is very much Greenwich, and the true essence of Lola & Leone,” said Litvinenko, who has lived in Greenwich since the age of three when her parents immigrated from the Ukraine.

Throughout her pageantry endeavors, Litvinenko, a philanthropist, who also has her own marketing and events company, began to pursue this passion project of her years ago, when she first created the scent in the South of France.

Now produced in the U.S., the Eau De Parfum, which embodies a refined combination of wood oils, rose, pear, orris, bergamot, star anise and gardenias, is available for purchase all over the world.

Much like the tenacity that went into the development of the perfume’s pleasant and refreshing aroma, Litvinenko put much thought into the name of the perfume, one that would evoke the brand’s essence.

Lola & Leone is the combination of a nickname given to her by a Spanish teacher at Greenwich High School (which she says has stuck years later), and Leone, which is the name of a very dear friend of hers who drowned.

“The story behind the name of the brand stems from tragedy, and although many of us experience bumps in life, it is important to take something positive out of it, and keep moving forward,” said Litvinenko.

“Realizing the value of life and the wonderful opportunities that are available day to day is not to be taken for granted and is what we aim to promote at Lola & Leone.”

A portion of the event proceeds were donated to the Yale New Haven Health Greenwich Hospital Foundation.
