Greenwich RTM Member (D8) Laura Kostin announced she’s running for a seat in the state legislature.

“A few months ago, I entered the realm of public service. I ran for and was elected to our local legislative body. It made me realize the impact I could have on public policy.  For this reason, I’ve decided to run for the Connecticut General Assembly to represent my district in Hartford. I’m not running to represent members of one political party over another in my area, but rather all of the residents who call District 151 home.”

Laura Kostin, a Democrat, is a resident of Cos Cob. She is a former cable news producer who’s worked at CNBC, CNN Financial News and MSNBC. She is also a vocal soil-safety advocate.

“I believe that while our state has real challenges, they are not insurmountable. We can work together to put ourselves back on a path to fiscal health, invest in our infrastructure and bring jobs back to Connecticut. I believe that the values we share will help move us forward… a desire to work collectively, treat each other with respect and help our communities thrive.”

Kostin is embarking on a campaign to knock on thousands of doors across her district in an effort to connect with voters and share her ideas. She’s anxious to speak to her neighbors and listen to their concerns.

“I’m eager to get to work, reaching out to voters, stakeholders and business owners so I can listen. Listening is the avenue to true advocacy. I am so excited to get out and get going.”

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6.
