CT Pioneer Branch NLAPW to Hold Annual Exhibition in Town

The Connecticut Pioneer Branch of the National League of American Pen Women will have its Annual Exhibition of Art, Music, and Writing at the Gertrude White Gallery of the Greenwich YWCA, May 2 to 31. The group of professional area women will offer work centered around the theme “Spring Inspirations.” Participating visual artists include Lucie Anderes, Vivian Bergenthal, Carol Nipomnich Dixon, Grace Le Vander, Katia Streiff, Mary Fike, and Kathryn Shorts.

The reception is scheduled for Friday, May 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature performances by Letters Members Harriet Gayle, Regina Krummel, Virginia Hagen, and Missy Wey, as well as Music Members Patti Preiss-Harris and Justine Macurdy. President Thalia Cokkinos is serving as MC. by Letters Members Harriet Gayle, Regina Krummel, Virginia Hagen, and Missy Wey as well as Music Members Patti Preiss-Harris and Justine Macurdy.

Junior Awards will be presented to three promising young women. The Junior Letters Award recipient is Monique Nikolov, a Junior at Greenwich High School. She is interested in creative writing public policy and journalism. She is President of the Model U.N. Club, captain of the Debate Team, and a writer for the Greenwich Free Press. She won First Prize in the Greenwich Diversity Advisory Committee Writing Contest and her writing has been recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, Lillian Butler Davey Communication Awards, Greenwich Time and Greenwich Magazine.
