Melissa Ben-Ishay,
founder of Baked by Melissa, the New York City-based brand famous for its signature bite-size cupcakes, will be the keynote speaker at Neighbor to Neighbor’s spring luncheon on Thursday, April 19 at 12 p.m., at Burning Tree Country Club.

Ben-Ishay founded her bakeshop in 2009 in New York City and has garnered a loyal following of devotees, thanks in part to the success of her signature tie-dye cupcakes. She now operates 14 stores in the greater New York City area and in October 2017 released her first cookbook, Cakes by Melissa: Life is What You Bake It.

Ben-Ishay will autograph copies of her cookbook, which guests will receive with each ticket purchase. In addition, guests will be treated to the signature bite-sized cupcakes that helped Baked by Melissa sell over 1 million cupcakes since its inception.

Vanessa Kuduk, Assistant Vice President of Lending and Hispanic Outreach for Members Credit Union also will be a featured speaker. Kuduk arrived in America as a young child and her family received assistance from Neighbor to Neighbor. Twelve years ago she began her career as a bank teller and today she is a vital part of the credit union’s outreach to the Hispanic community, creating loan programs and bringing financial education to the credit union members.

Tickets for the event are available at ntngreenwich.org. Proceeds will benefit Neighbor to Neighbor, Greenwich’s food pantry and clothing room, creating access to healthy food, quality clothing and basic living essentials to thousands of Greenwich-area residents.
