Obituary: Andree Bohy

Andree Bohy passed peacefully from this earth on February 7, 2018 under the gentle care of the nurses and aides at Nathaniel Witherell with her devoted daughter and son by her side.

Born in Chateau Chinon, France on March 20, 1917, Andree is predeceased by her husband Alexandre Bohy and survived by her son Gerard (Christine) Bohy and daughter Brigitte (Thomas) Gospodinoff; grandchildren Tina (Frank), Lauren (Michael) Brown, Carissa (Robert) Gospodinoff, Nikolas (Kathryn) Gospodinoff and great granddaughter Jolene Rose Brown born Feb. 5, 2018. During Andree’s full 100 years she received her diploma from the L’Institut de Beaute, experienced the Nazi occupation of Paris, aided in the resistance and sailed to Manhattan on the Liberte. Along with her husband and children, Andree made residence in San Juan, P.R., St. Thomas USVI, Fla., Chicago and finally settled in Greenwich. Andree was an independent woman with unrelenting strength. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

A Celebration of her life will be held on her birthday, March 20, at the Nathaniel Witherell Chapel at 2 p.m. The family asks that anyone wishing to offer condolences make a donation in Andree’s name to the Friends of Witherell at 70 Parsonage Rd, Greenwich, CT 06830, in gratitude for their excellent care.
