Letter: Bury the Power Lines

lettertotheeditor

Dear Editor,

After living in England for six years, I am perplexed why a prosperous place like Greenwich CT has not yet buried the power lines. In England, all the power lines in cities and villages are buried. It would be unthinkable to see power lines strewn everywhere in picturesque villages. A side benefit of this is that in six years living in England I did not once experience a power outage. These power lines here in Greenwich are such an eye sore, especially in town centers like Old Greenwich, Cos Cob and Byram, but it is mind boggling how we also live with the unnecessary reality of losing power during storms.

Why don’t we just bury the power lines in at least the town centers to help with power reliability and to improve the aesthetics of our beautiful historic town?
