The annual Kids In Crisis’ “Spring Fling,” the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, will take place Friday, March 2 at 330 Railroad Ave. This year’s gala, “Heroes Among Us: A Red Carpet Celebration,” will be emceed by journalist Jodi Applegate and organized by co-chairs Brooke Bohnsack, Lauren Critelli-Hagerty and Karina Solomon.

This year’s theme, Heroes Among Us, is in honor of the many individuals, organizations and businesses that have been instrumental in helping more than 143,320 children in the community over the past 40 years to have brighter tomorrows. The event will feature silent and live auctions, entertainment and food. All proceeds raised will help fund the award-winning shelter, counseling and community-based programs provided by Kids In Crisis.

“We are very excited to launch our 40th Anniversary with the upcoming Spring Fling. With this year’s theme of ‘Building Brighter Tomorrows’ we look forward to a very successful gala so we may continue to be a light in the darkness for so many children throughout Fairfield County,” said Shari L. Shapiro, Executive Director for Kids In Crisis.

“Kids In Crisis provides such an important set of services for the most vulnerable members of our community. It’s an honor to be involved,” said Jodi Applegate.

The success of Spring Fling relies entirely on the generosity of individuals and businesses within the community. Greenwich Development Partners is providing the space for the event venue. Situated two blocks from the Greenwich Metro-North train station, the three-story structure once housed Connecticut Light & Power and is listed in Connecticut’s Register of Historic Places.
