On Jan. 5, LaRoy Warner, Owner at Iron Camp in Greenwich, hosted a special event to raise more than just heavy barbells – the new “sports enhancement facility” partnered with PAWS of Greenwich to raise money for local pet welfare initiatives through the store at its inaugural Deadlift Party. Warner presented PAWS of Greenwich founder, Jessica Del Guercio, with a check for $400 to help support her efforts to make Greenwich a more pet-friendly community.

The first cash prize of $100 went to Frank DiPasquale who lifted 455lbs, the second cash prize of $75 went to Micheal Roberts who lifted 425 lbs., and the third went to Dr. Aaron Gerard who lifted 475lbs. “The event was a lot of fun,” said Warner. He continued, “Everybody had a great time and showed great sportsmanship. We had really good energy in the room for a great cause. I’m happy to announce that we had a couple of people hit their personal records, so that’s really awesome.”

Warner plans to host another Powerlifting event this summer to focus on Deadlifts.
