The Greenwich Hospital Auxiliary this year donated $554,000 to Greenwich Hospital to enhance cardiovascular, pediatric and women’s health services.
The donations included $300,000 for a stereotactic biopsy table to identify breast cancer; $200,000 toward a five-year pledge of $1 million to support cardiovascular services; and $50,000 to support pediatric services in the hospital’s Emergency Department. The Auxiliary also funded four annual scholarships for high school graduates studying for healthcare careers.
The generous gifts were announced during the Auxiliary’s 67th annual meeting on Oct. 5 by its president, Christine Randolph.
“My deepest thanks to each and every one of you for all that you do to make our hospital a stronger and safer place for our patients,” said Norman Roth, president and chief executive officer of Greenwich Hospital.
During the annual meeting, Jean Duffy of Greenwich and Ruth Meyer of New Canaan received the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award, a national honor given to those completing 4,000 hours or more of volunteer service over the course of their lifetime.
“Greenwich Hospital greatly appreciates the generosity and commitment of its auxiliary and volunteer force,” said Stacey Green, director of Volunteer Services. “This year, 535 adult and junior volunteers contributed to the success of the hospital by volunteering approximately 45,240 hours of service.”
