Town to Host Community Discussion About Immigration

“Achieving the American Dream for All – A Community Conversation on Immigration” will be hosted by the First Selectman’s Diversity Advisory Committee. The program, which will cover local policies pertaining to new immigrants and local services available for new immigrants, will be held Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m., at the YWCA Greenwich, 259 E. Putnam Ave.

The discussion will be moderated by Bobby Walker Jr., chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Club Greenwich. Panelists will include Alex Arevalo, of the Catholic Charities Immigration Services Office; attorney Philip E. Berns, Catalina Horak of Building One Community, and Lt. Mark Zuccerella of the Greenwich Police Department’s Special Victims Section.

The event is free and open to everyone in the community.

In addition to the First Selectman’s Diversity Advisory Committee, the program is sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club Greenwich, the Greenwich Board of Education, the Greenwich Department of Human Services and the YWCA Greenwich.
