Curiosity Concerts Presents Dar Williams

Dar Williams

On Saturday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m., Curiosity Concerts – a series of free family concerts presented by professional musicians at different venues in Greenwich – will present Dar Williams.

Williams has been called “one of America’s very best singer-songwriters” by The New Yorker. She’s released ten studio albums and authored four books including her latest, What I Found In A Thousand Towns, to be released in September. Known as much for her staunch progressive ideals as her raw acoustic energy, Williams has been captivating audiences with her sheer elegance and honesty in her folk-pop songwriting since the ’90s. Williams’ growth as an individual over her two-decade-long career has gone hand-in-hand with her evolution as an artist, touring along the way with such distinguished peers as Joan Baez, Patty Griffin, Ani DiFranco, Loudon Wainwright III, and Shawn Colvin. Williams’ most recent album, Emerald, is a sparkling collection of new original material, inspired collaborations and some surprising covers such as B.A.D.’s “Johnny Appleseed,” making this album one of her best yet.

This concert will take place at Audubon Greenwich, 613 Riversville Rd., and celebrate the contributions Georgie Ashforth (1932-2016) made to supporting art, music, and nature in our community. Following the concert, attendees can take a walk to Georgie’s Pond with Audubon naturalist Ted Gilman. The concert requires a $7 registration fee for each ticket (and every person attending requires a ticket). Curiosity Concerts is directing all additional donations for this concert to Audubon Greenwich.
