St. Barnabas Episcopal Church announces Balint Karosi will play the first concert in its “Bach@415 Concert Series” for the 2017-2018 season, which will take place on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 4:15 p.m.

Under the leadership of J. Michael Roush, Director of Music of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Karosi will play the Richards, Fowkes organ in a program that will include works by Bach, Franck, Vierne and his own compositions. In addition, he will play an improvisation on a submitted Hymn tune.

Bálint Karosi, Music Director of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, New York City, won the International Organ Competitions of Leipzig, Dublin, Miami, Arthur Poister and second prize of the AGO National Competition.

In 1988, St. Barnabas Church commissioned a “Classic” organ, representing the style prevalent during the 1600s in northern Germany and Holland, which was the type of organ that Bach and Handel played and composed upon.

Roush remarked, “What makes this performance so special is that Mr. Karosi studied in Europe on instruments just like our instrument at St. Barnabas.

Tickets are $30 for general seating and can be purchased at the door or online, at stbarnabasgreenwich.org
