Volunteer Firefighters Hold Flag Raising Ceremony

The Greenwich Volunteer Firefighters Association held its annual flag raising ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 8. with First Selectman Peter Tesei proclaiming proclaim Oct. 8 through Oct. 14 Greenwich Volunteer Firefighters Week. The ceremony took place in front of Town Hall, and Selectman John Toner and members of the Greenwich Volunteer Fire Companies were present.

The Greenwich Volunteer Firefighters Association held its annual flag raising ceremony.

Tesei proclaimed:

“Whereas, The members of our Volunteer Fire Companies provide essential services to the citizens of Greenwich in their hour of need; and whereas, The Volunteers have served the Town of Greenwich for 141 years by supplying efficient and effective fire emergency services; and whereas, These dedicated men and women of the Volunteer Corps continue to risk life and limb and leave their homes and families at all times of the day and night to provide protection for all of our citizens.

Now, therefore, I Peter J. Tesei, First Selectman of the Town of Greenwich, do hereby proclaim October 8 through October 14, 2017 Greenwich Volunteer Firefighters Week and call upon the citizens of Greenwich to recognize and pay tribute to the Volunteer Firefighters of Greenwich.”
