Rhonda Emily Sandor, 49, of Cos Cob, was called to heaven on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017.

She was born on May 25, 1968 to Emilia Zygmont and the late Henry Zygmont. After graduating Greenwich High School in 1986, she entered the medical field as an administrative and medical assistant at Southern Connecticut Vascular. Most recently, she was employed in the position as supervisor in charge at the Center for Functional Medicine. A truly compassionate person, she took great joy in helping others, always going above and beyond to help those in her care.

In her spare time, Rhonda loved to cook. She was a quick wit and had a great sense of humor. Above all, her family and friends were the center of her world. She was a loving wife and devoted mother. Rhonda was an angel on earth, teaching her boys right from wrong; always looking for the good in people.

She is survived by her husband, best friend and soul mate, Stephen M. Sandor of Greenwich, her two wonderful boys, Stephen and Henry as well as her mother Emilia Zygmont, who is currently living at Nathaniel Witherell in Greenwich.

She is also survived by her brother George Zygmont of Cos Cob, and his daughters, Anastasia and Georgina. Furthermore, Rhonda loved her aunts, uncles and cousins who were more like her brothers and sisters to her. She also leaves behind many beloved relatives and wonderful friends whom she loved dearly.

She was predeceased by her father, Henry Zygmont, as well as grandparents, George Zygmont, Regina Novakowski Zygmont, Luigi Ceci and Concetta Molinari Ceci.

Rhonda was a gentle, sweet soul; a true angel on earth. She lives on in the hearts of all she touched, now and forever.

Calling hours are today at Castiglione Funeral Home. A mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13 at St. Catherine’s Church, 4 Riverside Ave., Riverside, with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank you for the outpouring of compassionate generosity: your love, prayers and support mean so much. Donations can be made to the college fund set up for Stephen and Henry at The First Bank of Greenwich, 444 E. Putnam Ave., Cos Cob, CT. 06807.
