Peter Max Unveiling of the 2017 USTA Theme Art

C. Parker Gallery will exhibit “Peter Max Retrospective – The Collected Works 1960-2017,” a newly curated collection from Pop Artist Peter Max, Oct. 13 through Oct. 22. Max will make two in-gallery appearances on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The exhibit features Max’s most famous works, among them “Statue of Liberty,” Max’s famous “Flag” pieces, “Umbrella Man” and the prestigious “Cosmic Runner,” and premiers never-before-seen archival photos and footage from his early career.

Curator Lesley Smith has assembled this collection of Max’s greatest and most-revered imagery spanning six decades, from his iconic cosmic Art from the Summer of Love and Woodstock era to the 2013 unveiling of Max’s design for the cruise ship Breakaway and his latest project – the US Open theme art, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of Arthur Ashe Stadium.
