Police arrested a man who allegedly tried to steal a Maserati from a car dealership and later lead police on a high-speed chase through central Greenwich on Tuesday night.

According to a Greenwich Police Department arrest report, Demetris Rayvon Lark, 20, of Bridgeport, Conn., allegedly attempted to break into a 2017 Maserati Ghibli at Miller Motorcars located at 342 West Putnam Ave., before leading police on a high-speed chase.

The Maserati’s car alarm was tripped, and Lark fled the area and jumped into a stolen black Lincoln Town Car. An unmarked GPD unit began to initiate a motor vehicle stop with Lark on Livingston Place, who subsequently took off at a high rate of speed towards downtown central Greenwich.

According to the arrest report, Lark was “disregarding stop signs and red traffic lights” and “endangering other motorists and pedestrians.”

Lark eventually turned down a dead-end street and exited the vehicle, tossing a facsimile firearm at GPD units arriving on scene behind him. GPD units along with a K9 unit from the Westport Police Department were engaged in a foot pursuit before they apprehended Lark.

Lark now faces a multitude of felony charges, and was unable to post a $50,000 bond. Lark is due in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 27.
