It is an honor to support Leslie Tarkington for Board of Estimates and Taxation (BET). As a fiscal conservative and a dedicated volunteer public servant, Leslie has worked on the BET to reduce mill rate increases. Her goals are to control the financial demands on Greenwich taxpayers, to maintain the Town’s infrastructure and to preserve the quality of life in Greenwich.
After 12 years of service, Leslie has a broad working knowledge of the BET’s responsibilities and has held multiple leadership positions on various BET committees. Leslie has always presented reasonable positions on Town Department expenses and revenues based on her direct and effective communications with the Town Department Heads, finance and legal professionals, combined with a thorough evaluation of facts, analysis and monitoring of spending patterns. Leslie has always worked to maintain a ceiling on the Town of Greenwich’s debt and to limit its borrowing.
I have worked with Leslie on issues that matter to our Town and can attest to her abilities and depth of knowledge. All of this talent and capability is masked by her humble demeanor. Leslie is a dedicated volunteer for the Town of Greenwich and should be re-elected overwhelmingly to the BET!
