The Greenwich Choral Society announces an Open Sing for singers interested in becoming members, on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m., at the First Congregational Church. It will be an open rehearsal of Mozart’s Requiem so that people can sing in a rehearsal and meet the current members, and the Music Director, Paul F. Mueller.

Mueller will provide insights into the history of the composer and the work. A preview of the Greenwich Choral Society’s 2017-2018 season will be presented in a relaxed, informal environment.

Auditions will be conducted on several dates in September for singers interested in joining the Choral Society and can be scheduled at the Open Sing. Sopranos, altos, basses and, especially, tenors are invited to schedule an audition by contacting Bill Fulton at 203-322-2990 or cbful@snet.net

The Greenwich Choral Society, a 125-voice experienced volunteer chorus, sings a broad repertoire of classical music. Musical plans for 2017-2018 include a traditional December holiday concert featuring J. S. Bach’s Magnificat; Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor will be performed in March; and in May a Jazz Concert will feature the best of Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts.

The Chorus rehearses Tuesday nights in Old Greenwich. A 10-minute private audition consists of vocalizing to demonstrate range and quality of production, followed by sight-singing; no prepared piece is required. For questions, contact Bill Fulton at cbful@snet.net. For additional information, visit GreenwichChoralSociety.org
