Tesei Appoints Community Development/Grant Administrator

First Selectman Peter J. Tesei announced the appointment of William Tyler Fairbairn as Community Development/Grant Administrator for the Town of Greenwich.

Fairbairn, who is known as Tyler, assumed the position of Community Development/Grant Administrator on July 31. He Fairbairn was selected following an extensive search from a pool of more than two dozen applicants. Before his appointment in Greenwich, Fairbairn spent the last five years managing Community Development Block Grant and other U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Planning and Development programs for the cities of Bridgeport and Meriden.

In Greenwich, Fairbairn is responsible for the administration of more than $760,000 in Community Development Block Grant allocations to a variety of community organizations that provide valued services to those most vulnerable residents of our community.

Fairbairn, a Norwalk resident, has served on the Board of the Connecticut Community Development Association since 2013 and as its Vice President since 2014. He also serves on the Region 1 Board of the National Community Development Association.

A public hearing for the final funding recommendations for the 2018 Community Development Block Grant Program Year is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7 in the Town Hall Meeting Room of Greenwich Town Hall, 101 Field Point Rd.
