Obituary: Catherine Quaranta

Catherine Francis Quaranta, age 96, passed away on July 22 at Greenwich Hospital.

The daughter of the late Antonio Campiformio and Jenny Marino Campiformio. Catherine graduated Greenwich High School in 1940 and remained a lifelong resident of Greenwich.

Catherine enjoyed traveling, singing, playing cards, dressing well, and spending time with family and friends. She was a past president of the Byram Veterans Women’s Auxiliary and a member of the Glenville chapter of AARP. Catherine enjoyed many wonderful years with her daughter, Michele, on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Michael Quaranta, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Quaranta, her brother-in-law, Silvio Quaranta, of Florida, and several cousins, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Anna Latella, and her brothers, Mariano Labate, Patrick Campiformio, Joseph Campiformio, and Domenic Campiformio, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 25, at Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich. A funeral Mass was held the same day at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry St., Greenwich, and entombment followed at St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich.
