Obituary: Frank Orrico

Frank “Doc” Orrico passed away on July 23. He was 89 years old.

He was born on Sept. 16, 1927 to Joseph and Angelina (Commarota) Orrico in Greenwich. Frank served in the U.S. Army, 43rd Infantry Division. After serving in the Army, he worked for Electrolux for over 40 years. After retiring he worked for Pitney Bowes.

Frank was a member of the VFW in Cos Cob and of the St. Catherine’s Seniors.

Frank was predeceased by his wife, Rose Bria Orrico, his second wife, Nancy Losito, and his longtime companion, Carmela Smeriglio. He is survived by his daughter, Debra Loforese, and her husband, John; his grandchildren, Kelly and Dennis O’Brien; his brothers, Joseph and Lawrence; and his sisters Carmella Scharf, Dolores Farina, Josephine Pica, Margaret LoRusso, Teresa Springer and Louise Schmeiler. He was predeceased by his sister Alice Orrico.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 26, at Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich. A funeral mass will be held today, Thursday, July 27 at St. Catherine Church in Riverside, and interment followed at St. Mary Cemetery, 399 North St., Greenwich.
