It was all about glitter, glam and groove on June 2, as Family Centers took more than 450 guests back to the Disco Era for its “Friday Night Fever” benefit.

Held at the Greenwich home of Brooks and Tom Melly, Family Centers combined the glamour of a Helmut Newton photoshoot and the free-spirited attitude of Studio 54 to create a true disco wonderland. The event was co-chaired by Nancy Axilrod, Lindsay Burn, Leigh Carpenter, Ashley Fox and Nicki Rose.

During the event’s cocktail reception, guests mingled and danced to renowned NYC DJ May Kwok.

Inside the tent, a massive dancefloor, black and silver decorations, lounge-style seating and a ceiling full of mirror balls set the perfect nightclub vibe. As guests enjoyed a wide array of “small plates” prepared by Marcia Selden Catering, they were treated to some of the most beloved disco songs of the ‘70s. After dinner, guests danced the night away to the sounds of Element Music.

“Hippies and Harleys” was Family Centers’ largest fund-raiser of the year, and raised more than $815,000 for the agency’s human service, health and education programs that serve more than 23,000 Fairfield County residents each year.
