Come and enjoy “Experience the Sound: From Streams Through Soil to Sea” with the Town of Greenwich Shellfish Commission on Sunday, June 25 from 1 to 4 p.m., at Greenwich Point Park.

This free event is a great opportunity for the whole family to learn about all that the park has to offer. For this event, participants do not need a beach pass or car sticker to enter Greenwich Point. Whether one is interested in history, ecology, environmental stewardship, or outdoor sports, this event has something for everyone.

The theme for this year is “From Streams Through Soil to Sea” to emphasize that the local ecology in your own backyard is connected to the Sound and to encourage the public to be good caretakers of the land and the Sound.

With the backdrop of Greenwich Cove, the aim of the event is to expand the local community’s awareness of the coastal marine life, nature, outdoor recreational pursuits, and the environment by showcasing local organizations and the educational institutions that care for and promote them.

Activities will take place around the Innis Arden Cottage, the Old Greenwich Yacht Club and its docks, and the old mansion area at Greenwich Point. A free shuttle bus will be available to take participants around to the three areas.

No reservations are required and participation is free. No park pass is needed – participants need to tell the guard at the gatehouse that they are there for “Experience the Sound.”
