Aquarion Water Main Cleaning Begins this Week in Greenwich

water-quality-discoloration

Aquarion Water Company announced a water main cleaning program to ensure that customers in Greenwich continue to receive the highest quality water. The work began Sunday evening, May 14 and will continue through Friday, July 21.

The project, which will take place primarily during overnight hours, should last approximately ten weeks, and during that time customers might notice drops in water pressure and some discoloration in their water. This discoloration results from the temporary disturbance of the water flow, which stirs up naturally-occurring minerals that settle in water mains.

Customers are encouraged to store tap water in the refrigerator ahead of time for drinking and cooking. If the water is discolored, customers should delay washing clothes until the water is clear.

Below, is a list of general locations where the Aquarion crew will be located. Detailed street information will be available at 800-203-7000 or at aquarionwater.com under alert listings. For other questions, please contact Aquarion’s Customer Service Department at 800-732-9678.
