Artist and teacher Joseph Fama will present a demonstration of landscape painting in oils on Friday, April 28, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Garden Education Center, 130 Bible St. In the presentation, which is sponsored by the Art Society of Old Greenwich, Fama will show his paintings and sketches and will discuss how he tackled each subject. He will show how to set up a color palette and discuss the technique of painting from photographs so that the result is a painting, and not a literal copy of the photo.

This art demonstration is free, and open to the public. Parking is on the Garden Education Center premises.

Fama was President and Creative Director of Fama & Associates, Inc. from 1984 to 1996, and an Art Director for several advertising agencies in New York City. He designed Christmas ornaments for Christopher Radko and created illustrations for Wild West Magazine. He earned a BA degree from Iona College (1978) and attended Pratt Institute, School of Visual Arts and the Reilly League of Artists and studied with Cesare Borgia. Fama is a member of The American Artist Professional League, Oil Painters of America and American Impressionist Society, Inc.
