GPD Offers Women’s Self-Defense Class

The Greenwich Police Department is currently accepting applications for the 2017 Spring Women’s Self Defense Class. The five-week program is open to female applicants between 18 and 55 years of age. The class meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:45 to 9:15 p.m. This time slot is limited to twenty students.

The class begins on April 17 and graduation is tentatively scheduled for May 17.

Additionally the Greenwich Police Department is currently accepting applications for the 2017 Spring Young Women’s Self Defense Class. The five-week program is only open to female applicants who are Greenwich High School students (Public School or Private School) in the 11th or 12th grade. The class meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. This time slot is limited to twenty students.

The Women’s Self-Defense Class enables participants to learn proven techniques that will both bolster their confidence in self-defense situations and overcome physical/psychological situations.

Applications are available at Greenwichct.org. Completed applications along with a Photocopy of Identification may be returned to the front desk at Police Headquarters to the attention of the Community Impact Office.
