Richard Andrew Koellmer passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on March 16

Richard was born on Jan. 16, 1937 to John Narin Koellmer and Marie (Fink) Koellmer in Greenwich. He was a longtime Greenwich resident and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1955.

He served in the Air National Guard and was stationed in Wyoming. Richard worked for New York Telephone, later Bell Telephone, Nynex, and Verizon. He started as a lineman and retired as a foreman.

In 1958 he married his loving wife Josephine (nee Hobby). Richard loved his children and family, he enjoyed birdwatching, mechanics, guitar playing, and listening to country music. He also loved boating and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Josephine, his children Robin (Dr. D. Barry Boyd), Betty (John Castellana), and Susan (Luigi Pirri), his brothers Arthur and Philip, his grandchildren Anthony Stella, Brendan, Dylan, and Erica Boyd, Nina, Ambrogio, Johnny Castellana, Ashley Zeh (Matt), and Anastasia Pirri, his great grandchildren Michael Zeh and Mya Francetic.

Richard was predeceased by his brothers Jack and Bobby.

Visitation was on Sunday, March 19 at Castiglione Funeral Home, in Greenwich.

A Mass of Christian burial was held the following day at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside. Burial was private.
