(UPDATED: Wed., March 29 at 3:45 p.m.) Greenwich High School is still on lockdown, as the Greenwich Police Department were called to the high school for a threat that was made.

According to the Greenwich Police Department Twitter page, numerous officers and emergency vehicle are on the Greenwich High School campus. No one has been injured and all are safe. No other schools are involved in the lockdown. The police department is asking for people to avoid the area during their investigation.

Greenwich Police stated that the lockdown procedures are continuing without any incident and that officers are ensuring that all in the high school are safe. School dismissal is still delayed while the lockdown is in place.

“Please understand that during a police investigation details are not released to ensure the safety of the students and staff and the integrity of the operation,” said Kim Eves, Director of Communications at Greenwich Public Schools in a statement. “We understand you are concerned about the time of release, please know that it takes time to move through a school of this size. Dismissal will not take place until the police deem the site is safe for all. We will update you with more information as soon as we are able to.”

GPD also stated that the lockdown was not due to a bomb threat.

We will have more information as it becomes available.
